Looking through a second-story window in a quiet moment today, I saw that several taller trees were turning a lovely autumn red, although the change of seasons hadn’t been as noticeable from ground level when I was busy doing ordinary tasks. I probably would have noticed them if I’d spent a few minutes sitting quietly outside and paying attention to my surroundings. There’s a lesson for me in that.

Word-art that says, "Sometimes, you just need to sit in silence and let life teach you."

Nurturing Thursday was started by Becca Givens and seeks to encourage self-nurturing and to “give the planet a much needed shot of fun, support and positive energy.”

  1. Making time to be still is never a bad idea. I was driving home the other day and I noticed that the trees on the sides on the road were starting to turn at the top. I thought oh I gotta stop and take a picture and that’ll be my sign of the week but I didn’t. I just simply enjoyed the moment. Have a great weekend enjoy the fall.

    • Thanks, Clay! Yes, sometimes we need to resist that modern-day temptation to stop and take a picture, and instead simply enjoy the view.
