On these long winter nights when it seems there’s not much to do, we shouldn’t be so quick to turn on the TV and distract ourselves with other people’s drama. Instead, we might do better to spend some time listening to that small inner voice offering guidance. Even when we’re not aware of it, the subconscious mind is constantly making intuitive observations, to better lead us along the path; but we can only hear them if we’re quiet enough to listen.

One of my goals for the new year is to return to meditating so I can quiet my mind enough to hear “loud and clear” (hopefully)! Thank you for the gentle reminder and sharing your post with Nurturing Thursday!
A good resolution indeed! 🙂
Such a simple but powerful reminder dear. Mind is such a fussy monkey, just try to meditate and you will find it. Please tell me some Technic to make it stop for at least some time.
Sometimes it helps to give the monkey a little play time first…
good advice and perfect time.
Thanks Rupali, glad you liked the post!
Silence and solitude are much better than TV, but it’s much easier to turn on the TV or in my case Netflix on my computer than looking for answers inside my mind. 🙂
Yes, and the more we turn on the distractions, the more it seems like the easy thing to do. Breaking that habit does take some effort.
